Altec A 1

I?m a big Altec fan and my dream is to build a pair of A 1 with 3 speakers each side. I know the prospect of 1945 and have some questions: Does anybody know the plans of this speakers, RacereXtreme wrote, he knews someone who owns a pair. Maybe this man can help me. How the 515 - 20ohms woofers has been crossed ( N500C ?)parallel or serial? Which tube amps they used, later maybe the 1570B? Was this speaker also build with 515B and N500F, 15067 transformer ? A lot of questions, I know, thanks for any help.

Bi amplification is required for the A-1 and the A-1X.

You need 3 210 cabinets to make one A-1

I made a mistake within the describtion, I want to build the three woofer box, two pieces of them, shown in the Vott Katalog 1945. There are some other Altec nuts in my hometown and we want to use them in a big old warehouse, 25 meters long and 15 meters wide. I think, at that time they used the commercial Xovers and the old 127 or 128 tube amps, which we would replace with 1570B. Everything should be like original.

What your looking for would be like a 210 and 1/2
cabinet. A technical architect could design new plans based on the 210 dimensions by using reverse Engineering.

You could check with Steve schell on this forum .He might have the original 1945 plans.
